Barbara left this mortal sphere to reunite with her eternal companion, E. Dee Hampton, at the age of 81. She passed away peacefully in her home.

Her parents were Glenn Alley Haws and Roxie Estella Jensen Duckworth. She had one brother and one sister. She resided most of her life in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1945. She married her childhood sweetheart, Dee, on 14 Mar 1947 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary before Dee's death on 10 Oct 2002. She was employed by Scott's Book Store for 42 years. They were the parents of two daughters and one son, two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Dee and Barbara spent much of their life together building their own homes. After living in a home a few years, they would sell it and then build another. They also enjoyed building their own cabin in Island Park and spent many years sharing it with their family. Barbara also loved to write poetry. She had a wonderful talent in making words rhyme. In their retirement years she took up golfing with her husband. In 2001 she completed writing her 309 page life history. She stated in her epilogue that writing her own story was one of the most rewarding undertakings of her life and encouraged everyone to write their own life story. [Title: "Fragments and Milestones" is available from a family member.]

A ‘‘Celebration of Her Life’’ was be held on Sat., Dec. 27, 2008, at 2:00 pm at the Woods Funeral Home, 273 N Ridge Ave., Idaho Falls. A viewing one hour prior to the services was held.

NOTE: The early part of his life he was called 'Travis' but in 1960 he started going by 'T. Glenn'.

TOGETHERNESS (He loved this poem that he received from his sister when his wife passed away. He read it every night before he went to bed. His sister had received it from a friend at the time her husband passed,)

    TOGETHERNESS
    Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Whatever we were to each other we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the same easy way you always have.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it always was.
    There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of your mind because
I am out of your sight?
I am but waiting for you for an interval,
somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well, nothing is past. Nothing has been lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before--only better......
    Infinitely happier.
We will be one, together forever.

    Obituary: Travis Glenn Haws
    May 8, 1930 - March 25, 2014
Dr. Travis Glenn Haws passed peacefully on March 25th in St. George, Utah to be united once again with his beloved wife JoAnn and departed family members. In his final testimony he wrote, "I want you to know that God lives, and that I love you all, not only for who you are, but what I know you have the power to become."

Travis was born in Blackfoot, Idaho in 1930 to Glenn Alley Haws and Roxie Estella Jensen Duckworth and grew up in Idaho Falls. He served an LDS mission in Brazil in 1950 and later married JoAnn Kay Chadwick in the Idaho Falls temple in 1953. He graduated with his BA and MA from BYU and his Ph.D. in Zoology from Purdue University. From 1958-66 he held university teaching positions at colleges in New York, New Jersey, and was the first LDS professor hired by the University of Puget Sound in Washington State. He joined the Church Education System in 1966 and became the LDS Institute Director at Portland State University from 1970-92. Among his various church callings, he was Branch President in Plattsburgh [New York] and Bishop of the Tacoma [Washington] 4th and Forest Grove [Oregon] wards. Since his retirement, he served additional LDS missions with his wife in Philadelphia, Nauvoo and Salt Lake City.
Dr. Haws was an avid outdoorsman, master gardener, entrepreneur, scientist, teacher, scholar, author and family man. He is known for his wit and candor, his outgoing nature, and engaging personality. He was curious about life and always amazed by its profound beauty. He had a special gift for appreciating classical music from the moment he heard his first Metropolitan Opera at the age of nine and finding himself moved to tears without knowing why. He later fulfilled a lifelong dream as the guest conductor for the Utah Symphony at the 2006 Deer Valley 4th of July concert. Just months before his passing, Dr. Haws was able to publish his Magnus Opus, a book entitled "Who and What Am I, Why Am I Here on This Earth" (www.answersfromheaven.org) a book he believed could help any person understand the truth about the origin and purpose of life.

He is survived by his sister Sharon Jewkes and his 8 children, 31 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren and will be sorely missed by all those who were taught at his feet and influenced by his love and testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ.

His family is holding funeral services in his honor at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Sandy LDS chapel, 9855 S 2300 E with viewing services beginning at 11:00 am.

Darwin Ernest Jensen born 4 September 1925 at Pleasant View, Utah to Melvin Ernest Jensen, and Vera May Saunders. I have 1 sister Norma who is two years older, and one sister Verla who is three year younger than I am.
The first part of my life I remember was probably was when I was two years old, I fell from a swing in a neighbors basement, and it hurt a lot.
The next thing that I remember is my dad coming home all black from working in the coal plant that he worked at where he unloaded coal all day.
From there to Groveland, near Blackfoot, Idaho where I started school. My first grade teachers name was Mrs. Williams, and I went to Groveland till the fourth grade, then we moved to Shelly Idaho.
At age six my Grandfather William Saunders gave me my first Shetland Pony, and age
he also gave me a dog they were my companions till I married at the age of 20.
When we moved from Groveland to Shelly I was 10 years old and got to drive a team of horses all by myself, I thought that this time I was a man.
I went to Basalt School, the same school that my dad attended when he was a boy. In Basalt when my dad was a boy he lost his parents at a young age and had to go live with an Uncle,
I then went to Shelly Schools, we used to ride to school in an old wagon, that had a pot belly stove in to keep us warm.
It was two years till we left to go to Oregon. My parents bought the old Idanha Farm it was an old Prune Orchard with about 120 acres. In November of 1939, I was then 14 years and a freshman in high school, I participated in sports.
Me being small, I high jumped, pole vaulted, ran the 440 yard dash, small hurdles, 220 relay race I never won much, but I did have fun.
I also took FFA, and my instructors name was Bob Sawyer he was a great man. I loved farming and farmed with my dad. I took the physical for the draft, but was never called to service, guess that I was not supposed to go.
A friend of mine asked me to the movies, his name was Keith Bybee. We went to the movie at 9 pm after the feature ended and the lights came on we saw two young women that Keith knew. He asked them if they would go to the late night show with us and they accepted, they were Joan and Julia. Julia ended up being my date, she was so beautiful I could not watch the movie. I kept looking at her from the corner of my eye. I knew at this time that she was the woman of my dreams. She was only 16, and I was 18 years old. We dated for two years, Julia being 18, and I being 20 we got married on 4 September 1945 in the Salt Lake City, Utah LDS Temple for time and all eternity.
We had 7 children, 4 boys and 3 girls, their names are Steven, Ronald, Darwin, Carla, Julie, Laura, and Mark.
Julia and I have been on the farm always. we raised our children their, and each one of them had a horse, and other animals to love and take care of. They learned that everyone works to make a go of it, they helped in building our new home, in Nyssa, Oregon. How nice it was to have a home big enough for our whole family.
Our children have given us 45 Gandchildren and at least 102 Great Grandchildren.
We have also served a mission to Lansing Michigan. I do not remember any talk of missionaries until just before we married and they said missionary work was suspended because of WW2, It had not started that I know of when we got married.
What a change in my lifespan, from horses, to cars, airplanes, to jet aircraft, to space travel, to telephones, radio, tv, vcr, computers, etc, and etc.
I did get my pilots license, and we traveled to Mexico, visiting the ruins, also many trips to visit our children. We loved elk hunting, fishing, and Julia always went along with Darwin wherever he ventured.
They were an Inspiration to their family, and will greatly be missed!!!!
